What is Digital Adoption ?
On Adopt from Afar, we’ve reimagined the way we can make a difference in the lives of rescue dogs and cats. We understand that not everyone can physically adopt a pet for a variety of reasons, but that shouldn’t stop them from sharing their love, care and support. That’s where digital adoption comes in.
All of the animals on our platform have already been rescued, rehabilitated and placed in the Farm Pension, where they are cared for and live in a safe and warm environment. However, it is likely that they will have to stay at the farm pension for the rest of their lives. Digital Adoption is a system we have put in place to ensure that the safe living environment we provide for them continues and is sustainable throughout their lives.
It is also a unique and innovative approach that allows you to make a meaningful connection with a rescue animal, even if you can’t physically take them home with you. It’s a virtual bond that goes beyond borders and has a lasting impact on the lives of these furry friends.
How does it work?
At Adopt from Afar, our commitment to the welfare of rescue dogs knows no bounds. To ensure that every adopted dog receives the care they deserve, we’ve designed our digital adoption program with a unique and compassionate approach.
The one-year cost of each dog’s accommodation – pension fees, food and standard veterinary care can be substantial for one person to bear alone. With this in mind, we’ve kept the adoption fee at a reasonable level and increased the number of people who can adopt each dog. Each dog can be adopted by 50 people, with a digital adoption fee of $30 per person. You may of course buy more than 1 (50 adoptions will cover a dog’s yearly costs, including pension, food, vaccinations, vet fees etc.) if you prefer to contribute more on your chosen furever friend.
Through this collective effort, we create a heartwarming community where love and support is shared among kind-hearted people. Through the power of digital adoption, we spread the 1-year cost over several people, making it accessible to everyone without burden.

You will receive a NFT of the dog you have digitally adopted. Our NFTs are minted and stored on the MultiversX Blockchain, so you will need a MultiversX Wallet or Xportal to receive and keep your NFT.
